The primary service of Wit-Son Carbide Tool pertains to the precision fabrication of both complex blueprint special inserts and tools and to the manufacture of both ANSI and ISO industry standard indexable inserts. In addition to our experience with super hard tungsten carbide materials we are also well experienced with alternate materials – such as ceramic, cermet, silicon nitride and titanium based compositions. A large percentage of our work is performed on a subcontract basis for customers supplying their own material for finish processing to their print specifications. Our primary customer requirements concern the supply of finished products using specific material grades and compositions furnished by Wit-Son Carbide Tool per customer instructions.
In addition to new tools for various machining applications – such as milling, boring, threading, grooving and turning – we also provide comprehensive regrinding and resharpening programs that can reduce tooling costs by 50% or more. In today’s economy, regrinding used carbide inserts and tools is an excellent way of reducing costs and overhead – and Wit-Son can show you how a successful resharpening program can be implemented.
Our newest equipment additions include a Starrett Galileo Vision Inspection Machine and a Laser Technologies Laser Marking Machine. Our customers can now benefit from products inspected and verified on the latest state-of-the-art inspection device and also from products permanently marked with easy to read identification created by the latest laser marking technology.
